The SPELL consortium is organizing the SPELL @ hackathonamring from October 01st to 03rd, 2021 as a face-to-face event at the Nürburgring with three formats. In addition to the 40-hour hackathon, various other hack-related events are also planned: Expert roundtables, specialist lectures and a trade fair exhibition make the event unique. 

After the 2020 Corona break, the Hackathonamring will return. This year in cooperation with the SPELL research project. At SPELL @ Hackathonamring, from October 01st to 03.10.2021rd, 400 around 40 hackers will work for 5.000 hours in ten exciting challenges on the topic of SPELL. prizes of up to XNUMX euros are available. The Nürburgring, the most dangerous race track in Europe, offers a spectacular location for this.

350 to 400 hackers in competition

The Hackathon event is a technology exhibition with innovations for the better management of crises and disaster situations. Lectures and round tables from their fields with personalities from politics, universities, aid organizations and technology providers. There is also a programming, coding and business modeling marathon in over 40 hours. We expect 350 participants to work as experts and / or architects together with enthusiastic hackers on future solutions and even prototypes.

Research project SPELL

SPELL is a research project funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics on the subject of AI in incident and situation management. Since June 12 partners have been working under the leadership of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) on a semantic platform for intelligent decision-making and operational support in control centers and situation centers. The aim is to use artificial intelligence in crisis situations (such as major disasters, pandemics, natural disasters or widespread power outages) to initiate measures to avert danger, provide emergency aid and provide supplies to the population more quickly.

Exciting challenges and a real racing atmosphere

The participants in the hackathon have the opportunity to exchange ideas with experts, to work themselves in the areas of drones, sensors and platform technology and share their expert knowledge, from the dispatcher to the office manager and politics, from the manufacturers of operational control systems and staff management software, the authorities for hazard prevention and the To bring in civil and civil protection in a forward-looking manner.
