Paradigm shift in cybersecurity: F-Secure introduces a modular security platform. The cloud-based platform F-Secure Elements gives companies fast, flexible and easy access to cybersecurity services.

The cybersecurity provider F-Secure today presented the new cloud-based security platform F-Secure Elements: As Security-as-a-Service, it can be seamlessly integrated into any company environment and combines all the necessary security components that are available via a single cloud based management console can be administered. The company can select those components that it really needs. F-Secure Elements is available as a subscription model through F-Secure's service partners and can either be managed entirely by the partner or by the company itself.

Elements: Scalable and flexible security platform

In an era of unpredictable change and business disruption, the pandemic has proven that no one can really specify what future needs will be - the ability to adapt to situations and requirements now applies to cybersecurity as well. The main principle for F-Secure was to enable a platform that is scalable, flexible and individually adaptable, but without losing sight of the simplicity of the matter. With F-Secure Elements as a result, companies can choose cybersecurity services on terms that suit their needs.

Businesses need a new approach to cybersecurity

Many companies operate in complex environments that are characterized by a number of dynamic risks and opportunities. Given this complexity, as well as the rising cost of security and the lack of skilled security professionals, it is no surprise that a large number of organizations are looking to simplify the procurement of cybersecurity services.

According to Klaus Jetter, regional vice president at F-Secure, these requirements are leading to a shift towards delivering cybersecurity in the form of services rather than products. “The Security-as-a-Service model allows companies a high degree of flexibility in terms of cybersecurity. F-Secure Elements adapts to the company's requirements and not the other way around, ”says Jetter. "With the usage-based model, companies can also scale as required without having to buy additional unnecessary resources."

A platform that grows with company requirements

F-Secure Elements is a modular platform and combines endpoint protection, endpoint detection & response (EDR), vulnerability management and collaboration protection for cloud services (such as Microsoft Office 365).

The key features and benefits of F-Secure Elements include:

  • Comprehensive overview of the company's current security situation
  • Transparency about all resources, configurations, vulnerabilities, threats and events
  • Optimized and autonomous processes to ensure efficient workflows and faster reactions to real threats
  • Networked data flow in real time between the individual elements to enable faster detection of threats
  • Intelligent, advanced detection and reaction options for data-based decisions
  • Ability to escalate difficult cases to F-Secure's experts if necessary

A recent report from Forrester underscores the increasing importance of flexibility and usage-based pricing *: “During the pandemic, many customers were dissatisfied when providers refused to lower license usage below the base values, even though usage in the company had decreased due to downsizing. Check the contracts and ask about the flexibility to change the license basis under certain conditions and about the possibility of transferring unused license rights to the next year at no additional cost. "

Usage-based billing model

With the visibility into usage provided by F-Secure Elements detailed billing with usage-based billing, companies can make informed decisions about managing security investments to prevent them from paying for unused licenses or services they don't need.

“Usage-based billing helps companies develop and adapt their security capabilities so that they can focus on the results and move from ownership to usage,” says Jetter.
