The European IT security manufacturer ESET has again received the ISO 27001: 2013 and ISO 9001 certifications for its security solutions and cloud offerings. The audit required for this was carried out by the SGS Group (www.sgs.com), one of the most renowned companies in the areas of inspection, testing, verification and certification.
This certifies that ESET has implemented an information security system (ISMS) to protect its own products and their development as well as all information collected, for example in the virus labs. It also includes all ESET cloud services such as ESET Cloud Administrator and ESET Business Account as well as the distribution of the entire product range.
Complete safety cycle
As part of the information security system, all potential risks are permanently identified, analyzed and averted by suitable measures. Conformity to the internationally recognized standard ultimately leads to complete and precise security checks. As a result, ESET users not only receive optimal products and services, but they can also be sure that the IT security manufacturer will handle their own data with the greatest possible security.
"The holistic expansion of our ISO certifications to the full ESET portfolio with all connected cloud services, consoles and solutions is just another logical step with which we are living up to our responsibility as a European manufacturer." Says Michael Schröder, Security Business Strategy Manager at ESET Deutschland GmbH. "Customers of all sizes and from every area of activity can rely on the product quality and our processes - especially with regard to data protection."
Quality and transparency offensive
Certification is an important part of the quality offensive that ESET will continue in 2021. In the first step, the overall performance of all security solutions was optimized and brought to the top of the industry. This is confirmed by the many positive test results and awards from independent institutes and analysts worldwide. In a second step, the voluntary “no backdoor guarantee” followed, with which ESET guarantees its customers that no backdoors for anyone - not even for governments or secret services - will be built into its own security solutions. With the ISO certification, there is another component that will have a direct positive effect on the upcoming, new bundles. These will be officially presented in mid-February 2021.
