Germany safe online (DsiN) publishes the new “Secure user accounts – simply log in” with helpful tips and assistance. The guide series was created in cooperation with the authentication expert Yubico.
Login data is sensitive data that, in the wrong hands, can be misused and cause significant damage to users. According to the current DsiN security index, more than half of all users assume that they cannot protect themselves against data misuse. This is where the new DsiN guide comes in, which was created in cooperation with the security experts from Yubico, and explains which measures are available to increase online security.
Login, password manager, security key
“Nearly 90% of all successful attacks are due to stolen or poorly protected credentials. That's why we start with our YubiKeys at login. With 2-factor or multi-factor authentication, even with stolen passwords, hackers cannot access protected accounts because the personal security key is missing. This keeps the data safe, even with sophisticated phishing methods,” said Patrick Schnell, Senior Channel Manager at Yubico.
The DsiN guides provide information on everyday topics related to the Internet. Important terms and tips are explained in a way that is easy to understand. Further links refer to comprehensive information on the respective topics as well as contacts to advice and help offers.
