Cloud security provider Bitglass received the highest score for all nine evaluation criteria in the KuppingerCole Market Compass on Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASBs). The report covers providers who are supposed to solve the problems of security and compliance when using cloud services.

The criteria are security, interoperability, ease of use, provisioning, detection, access control, data security, compliance and the management of the corresponding overall position. KuppingerCole has included Bitglass in its CASB Compass for the fourth time. In addition to the top ratings in all categories, the CASB was selected by Bitglass as the “Featured for Innovation” solution this year. This recognizes advanced technologies that advance the cloud security industry.

In particular, the report focuses on the unique agentless reverse proxy. Based on the patented Ajax VM technology, which ensures performance and availability when updating applications, Bitglass reverse proxy provides real-time agentless protection for any application with access from any device - including private devices. The Market Compass also highlights the Secure Web Gateway (SWG) Bitglass SmartEdge. As the only device-based SWG in the world, it decrypts and checks the data traffic locally via a SmartEdge agent on each device. This eliminates the need for local appliances, VPNs, cloud proxies and network hops.

"A major problem with CASB deployment is the need to install agents on devices or as part of a forward proxy," said Mike Small, an analyst at KuppingerCole and author of the report. “The Bitglass solution uses the agentless reverse proxy functions of the patent-pending Ajax VM. So it can support any application with data security and threat protection, identity and visibility in real time. "
