Cloud security specialist Barracuda announces a cloud-native SASE platform that enables companies to control access to data from any device, anytime, anywhere. To achieve SASE convergence, the Barracudas platform combines Secure SD-WAN, Firewall-as-a-Service, Zero Trust Network Access and Secure Web Gateway technologies.
In a recent study by Barracuda, more than 80 percent of respondents said that customers have a SASE solution that runs natively with their chosen Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) cloud provider, a third-party offering that runs another cloud -Solution requires, preferred.
Customers only want to use one cloud
The new cloud-native platform is based on Barracuda CloudGen WAN and CloudGen Firewall and is now available with the following additional security and network functions:
- Allows security services on customers' cloud hubs, in addition to being able to run them directly on the devices on site
- Improved application performance with Dynamic Forward Error Correction (FEC), extending the SD-WAN benefits to branch offices with a single ISP connection
- Flexible and secure remote access functions with reduced latency times with point-to-cloud connectivity
- Optimizes OT / IoT implementations through scalable connectivity and instant security, as the Barracuda Secure Connector can now be networked directly with the CloudGen Firewall or Cloud Hub
“When companies move their resources to the public cloud, it makes sense to consider SASE offerings that are cloud-native. In this way, in addition to the physical proximity between the network access and the location of the assets, there is the advantage of a global public cloud architecture, ”explains Klaus Gheri, General Manager Network Security at Barracuda Networks.
Barracuda connects CloudGen Access and Content Shield
By the end of the year, Barracuda will merge its ZTNA solution, Barracuda CloudGen Access, with its Cloud Secure Web Gateway product, Barracuda Content Shield. The integration of both technologies will allow a common identity, a common client and a central installation.
XDR platform with 24x7 SOC support for MSP
Companies are confronted with increasingly complex cyber threats and can hardly react to them due to the rampant shortage of skilled workers. By recently acquiring SKOUT Cybersecurity, Barracuda was able to expand its portfolio to include a high-performance XDR platform with 24 × 7 SOC support. Barracuda also integrates its solutions with Open XDR platforms such as Stellar Cyber.
