With two new products, the NV5 VPN Gateway Tabletop Appliance and the outdoor Wi-Fi 6 Access Point AP332CR, WatchGuard expands its powerful range of security products and services for enterprises and Managed Services Providers (MSPs) seeking are looking for IT security solutions to support a wide range of decentralized workplace scenarios. This gives users seamless protection wherever they are.

More security: VPN, WiFi plus cloud

In combination with WatchGuard Cloud for simple, uniform and central management, the strengths of the new model variants come into their own. The WatchGuard "Unified Security Platform" concept can be used to map implementation and configuration as well as monitoring.

“With this portfolio expansion, WatchGuard once again reinforces its position as the security vendor of choice for MSPs. The aim is to offer customers and in particular managed service providers a wide range of options that can be used to map a wide range of requirements and needs - especially with regard to physically distributed company structures," says Ryan Poutre, Product Manager at WatchGuard Technologies. Firebox NV5: Edge connectivity for branch offices and remote applications

The Firebox NV5 is a powerful solution for secure VPN connections. It provides administrators with centralized security and logging capabilities and is specifically designed to support remote VPN connections to a virtual or physical Firebox.

All traffic can be routed to the enterprise appliance using BOVPN (Branch Office VPN) capabilities to provide users with the same protection as in the enterprise, regardless of location. Because of its enterprise-class SD-WAN capabilities, the NV5 is ideal for use in any type of decentralized application scenario.

Key features of the Firebox NV5 include

  • Zero touch deployment - The zero-touch deployment and configuration tool in WatchGuard Cloud comes standard with the Firebox NV5. IT teams can use it to eliminate much of the work involved in setting up the device—without leaving the office. As soon as the Firebox is connected to the power supply and the Internet at the destination, the pre-defined configuration is automatically downloaded from the company network and installed.
  • Network optimization with SD-WAN – Businesses need a network solution that can adapt to changing conditions, thereby optimizing performance and reducing costs. Dynamic path selection makes this possible. To do this, the most suitable connection is selected based on real-time monitoring of jitter, packet loss and latency. This technology allows the Firebox NV5 to reduce expensive MPLS or cellular data usage and improve network resiliency without sacrificing security.
  • WatchGuard User Experience – Many customers use remote applications or have small remote offices, which can increase administrative burdens. The NV5 leverages the same platform as other WatchGuard firebox, Wi-Fi, authentication and endpoint solutions. Administrators therefore do not have to change their habits when planning firmware upgrades or monitoring access points and always move in a single user interface.

WatchGuard AP332CR: ideal for outdoor use and harsh environments

The provision of a secure and high-performance WLAN environment is a must for many companies in order to provide their employees with easy access to the Internet and to offer their customers corresponding services. With its high Wi-Fi 67 performance and WPA332 encrypted security, the IP6-certified AP3CR is ideal for building an easily scalable network in harsh environments or outdoors.

The dual-band access point provides a 2×2 radio module and four external, omnidirectional antennas that offer fast, reliable coverage of up to 1,2 Gbit/s in the 5 GHz band. A PoE+ port is also included, supporting data rates up to 2,5 Gbps. The AP332CR is deployed and configured via the WatchGuard Cloud. The full Wi-Fi 6 performance with WPA3 encryption is then available during operation - ideal for setting up easily scalable networks in schools, public hotspots and smaller production environments.

Basic cloud management features are included with the standard Wi-Fi in WatchGuard Cloud license, such as 24-hour reporting, comprehensive 30/XNUMX support, diagnostics, inventory management and more. In addition to these functionalities, the WatchGuard Unified Security Platform Management licenses for Wi-Fi in WatchGuard Cloud include XNUMX days of reporting, VPN configuration, advanced PSA integration and much more.

Cross-platform benefits of online management of the AP332CR in WatchGuard Cloud include

  • easy VPN connectivity to Fireboxes also managed in WatchGuard Cloud.
  • Multi-tier and multi-tenant capabilities through a centralized WatchGuard cloud management platform with enhanced enablement and intelligent inventory management
  • Captive portal creation with custom corporate branding e.g. B. Company logos, background and thumbnails
  • Enterprise authentication through easy-to-manage WatchGuard authentication domains
  • Centralized management of the WatchGuard product portfolio, including AuthPoint, Firebox and endpoint solutions
