Resilience capabilities for uninterrupted cloud operations: Zscaler Resilience extends the flexibility of the cloud platform and keeps each app connected for rapid recovery from unforeseen events or attacks.

Zscaler announces Zscaler ResilienceTM, a service that brings new capabilities to extend the resiliency of Zscaler's architecture and operations, keeping users and devices connected to critical cloud-based applications. Built on the world's largest inline cloud security platform, these industry-first SSE capabilities enable rapid response to black swan events and keep customers running.

App keeps connecting

Critical events caused by state actors through vandalism or natural disasters are difficult or even impossible to predict. Such events can affect the operation of cloud infrastructures and lead to increased demand for cloud resilience approaches. As modern businesses increasingly have a mobile workforce who rely on secure access to critical cloud-based applications, such unpredictable events can not only disrupt business operations, but also result in the loss of sensitive data, impacting revenue and reputation have.

To help organizations prepare for such black swan events, Zscaler Resilience leverages the integrated services of the Zscaler Zero Trust ExchangeTM cloud security platform to provide novel business continuity capabilities that enable business continuity to continue.

Resiliency for the cloud

Maintaining connections to public and private cloud applications
Zscaler Resilience provides business continuity capabilities to protect organizations from blackouts, brownouts, and other unpredictable events, leveraging the ability to automatically find the optimal path from user and device to application. Zscaler Resilience includes the following new features:

Disaster Recovery

In the event of a catastrophic event affecting access to private applications behind the Zscaler Cloud, IT and SecOps teams will have the additional flexibility to safely bypass the impacted Zscaler Cloud. Connected to a Zscaler Private Service Edge in the customer's on-premises data center or in a public cloud, the most up-to-date security policies continue to be applied without disrupting business operations. Direct Internet access enables access to business-critical applications with localized content filtering using the Zscaler Client Connector, thereby ensuring business continuity.

Dynamic performance-based selection

This unique capability enables customers to quickly recover from brownout scenarios that can cause performance degradation between users and applications. Gateways are continuously checked for HTTP latency and autonomous tunnels are set up that select the optimal path for data traffic.

Customer-driven exclusion of data centers

This feature allows customers to set a temporary lockout period for data centers experiencing connectivity issues. After the problem has been resolved in the affected data center, the service is automatically restored.

Complementing these new capabilities is the introduction of a new custom service, Zscaler Resilience AuditTM, to help customers create business continuity plans. This audit helps identify areas for improvement and close gaps before unforeseen events can cause disruption.

Cloud-native zero trust architecture

Pioneering a cloud-native Zero Trust architecture, the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange has transformed security and established itself as a mission-critical service for many of the world's largest enterprises and government agencies. The platform is highly scalable, processing more than 280 billion inline transactions per day with a long history of near-continuous uptime and best-in-class Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Business continuity for mission-critical services is a top priority for IT leaders, and Zscaler offers customers additional protections through Zscaler Resilience.
