Passphrases are longer and more complex than simple passwords. They can be easily created using a passphrase generator. A leading provider of zero-trust solutions has now expanded its passphrase generator for mobile Android devices.

Keeper Security is expanding its mobile platform with a passphrase generator. This new functionality is now available for Android devices and helps users develop strong and unique credentials for their accounts in response to the growing risks posed by sophisticated cyber threats. Passphrase for iOS will be available in the coming weeks.

Passphrases are harder to crack

Weak and reused passwords are a proven vulnerability for both individuals and organizations. The passphrase generator offers an easy way to create more secure alternatives. Passphrases are typically longer and more complex than traditional passwords, making them significantly more difficult for attackers to crack. While conventional passwords are often a short string of characters, passphrases offer a higher level of security consisting of several random words.

“We are excited to bring passphrase functionality to our mobile users, starting with Android users,” said Craig Lurey, CTO and co-founder of Keeper Security. “This functionality provides a way to generate highly secure credentials directly on devices, making it easier to protect accounts while simplifying the login process.”

Generator uses recommended word list

The passphrase generator is integrated with the existing password generator, giving users and administrators the flexibility to choose the best option for their specific security needs. The generator uses the Electronic Frontier Foundation's recommended word list of 7.776 words, excluding offensive terms. Users can personalize their passphrases using various parameters: number of words, selection of a separator, and adding numbers and capital letters.

In addition to the passphrase generator, Keeper is introducing an extended logout timer for Android users. This feature allows users to extend the duration of their logout timers, from one minute to a maximum of two weeks. This update offers more flexibility in session management and meets customer requests for longer session durations.

ensuring better safety standards

Keeper's platform simplifies the process of generating, managing and storing passphrases by ensuring easy generation of secure credentials that meet various security requirements. Administrators can enforce consistent paraphrase policies across the organization and ensure reliable security standards.

The advanced Keeper password manager app for Android is now available on the Google Play Store. Rated 4 out of 6 stars, with more than 5K reviews and more than ten million downloads. The app updates automatically for all registered users.
