New endpoint security solution for SMEs

Share post

Astra, the new cloud-based endpoint security solution from Zyxel Networks, offers SMEs not only classic security but also a protected environment for mobile work, as well as management and protection of all end devices via a portal.

Location-independent working enables employees to connect to the company network from anywhere in order to collaborate with colleagues, partners and customers. As a result, however, SMBs now need to securely manage many more network devices than ever before.
While such decentralized networks provide the flexibility employees need, they also increase the risk of cyberattacks. To help protect SMBs, Zyxel offers Astra, a cloud-based security solution that can be installed on multiple endpoints, providing a first line of defense no matter where employees are located.

Unlimited perimeter security

With Astra, all aspects of security are in the hands of the administrator, including dark web monitor, IP/URL reputation and web filtering features. This allows users to be protected outside of the company's premises.

By connecting to the cloud, Astra's threat intelligence database is automatically updated and transmitted to the end devices in real time. This means that users no longer have to download and run updates manually, as Astra is always up to date automatically.

Monitoring and administration via app

Astra allows network administrators to monitor and control security settings on remote devices via a new mobile app. The unified platform aggregates alerts, reports, and event analysis, providing instant visibility and visibility. The Astra app can also be installed on mobile devices to protect users from phishing and exploit attacks - without impacting device performance.

"Hybrid working offers employees increased flexibility, but it's important to protect against the risks," commented Ken Tsai, senior associate vice president of the Zyxel Gateway SBU. “Especially SMEs need a coordinated and technical protection solution that protects the growing number of end devices and prevents companies from being attacked. Combined with Zyxel's firewalls and cloud security solutions, Astra offers a unified and consistent approach to protecting small and medium-sized businesses.”
