New Nebula update from Zyxel integrates ATP firewalls via the cloud and adds secure VPN to remote workstations. In conjunction with Nebula, ATP firewalls offer comprehensive protection against zero-day and endpoint attacks.

Zyxel Networks, a leading provider of secure AI and cloud-based business and home network solutions, is now supporting its high-quality Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) firewalls with the centralized cloud management solution Nebula, which provides a large number of function updates. This enables SMEs and managed service providers (MSP) to make hybrid work - which has now become the norm in many companies - even more efficiently and successfully. This update is free of charge for existing customers.

Comprehensive security - simple and powerful

Small business owners whose employees work in the home office often assume that they are adequately protected by routers from well-known telecommunications companies. However, the reality is different. The costs for a professional firewall and robust VPN access are only a fraction of what a possible loss of data or the recovery of relevant operational information would cost. To meet this challenge, Zyxel has released a firmware upgrade for the premium firewalls of the ATP series, which complements the centrally managed, cloud-based Nebula family with advanced network security functions. ATP helps protect networks and data from advanced cyber threats such as zero-day attacks that fly under the radar of traditional security solutions. The solution complements the USG-FLEX series in the growing range of firewall solutions with Nebula compatibility.

Complete control and uniform guidelines

To support secure work at remote locations, network administrators can use the new key functions in the Nebula Control Center to easily and directly deploy the Zyxel SecuExtender VPN client. SecuExtender can be installed on end devices such as desktops or laptops to provide two-factor authentication and a VPN tunnel for those who work at home or away from the office. With the addition of SecuExtender to Nebula, network administrators can now centrally manage the security of all endpoints and ensure that security policies are met regardless of location.

Simplified license management

Thanks to an optimized and simplified user interface, MSPs and retailers can now manage Nebula licenses via the subscription management platform Circle. In addition to security licenses, the scope of functionalities also includes asset management, account management and e-commerce in one central resource.

"With these latest updates for Nebula, customers have a portfolio of over 60 different products at their disposal, all of which can be managed together via a cloud-based network management platform," says Norbert Roller, Senior Director Channel Business DACH at Zyxel. “This offers SMEs a wealth of options that help them to meet specific requirements and application scenarios. Since the network landscape has changed significantly in the past 18 months, we have continuously developed our offerings for SMEs and MSPs to ensure that they can keep up with the challenges in security and network management.
