For the recently published Acronis Cyber Readiness Report, 19 companies and home office workers around the world were surveyed during the COVID-3.400 pandemic.

It showed that only 12% of all employees worldwide chose full-time office work as the ideal form of work. 38% of the respondents in Germany stated that they prefer to spend half of their working hours in the office and the other half of the time to work from home. Globally, 50% of all respondents preferred this 50/33 split.

Cyber Readiness Report on attacks in the home office

The report also shows that hackers mostly attack employees in the home office with phishing, DDoS (Distributed Denial-of-Service) and video conference attacks.

  • Phishing attacks never reach intended proportions, which is hardly surprising given that only 2% of organizations value URL filtering when evaluating a cybersecurity solution, according to the report.
  • 39% of the companies surveyed had a video conference attack in the last three months when employees used applications such as Zoom, Cisco Webex and Microsoft Teams.
  • Acronis Cyber Protection Centers (CPOCs) found that without Acronis Cyber Protect, 35% of malware attacks can undermine corporate protections.

The survey results show why companies need an affordable cyber protection solution that reduces complexity and improves security. Acronis is also currently introducing its new product Acronis Cyber Protect 15 on this subject.
