Windows 11: Endpoint Security in the test

Windows 11: Endpoint Security in the test

Share post

Since Windows 11 is increasingly becoming the standard system in companies as well, the AV-TEST laboratory tested 17 solutions for endpoints in companies and an additional 16 products for individual workstations or home office notebooks. The results show small surprises, but no disaster.

Malware such as Trojans, ransomware or data stealers always storm the weakest point in companies: the end point with employees who usually have other high skills than cybersecurity, for example. Since companies are increasingly relying on new PCs and thus also Windows 11, the AV-TEST laboratory tested 17 endpoint solutions. In addition, 17 packages for individual users were examined.

16.000 true malware attacks per solution

The comprehensive test examines each security solution for its protective effect (protection), system load (performance) and usability (usability). The laboratory awards up to 6 points for each test area. The table contains a large number of products that have achieved the maximum number of 18 points. Others have a very good 17,5 points, such as the local Windows Defender in the Enterprise version. Only 4 of the 17 business solutions are below this. The worst candidate still gets an impressive 16,5 points.

The picture is very similar for the single-user versions. Only individual product values are slightly weaker, but do not fail the test. Here, too, Windows Defender under Windows 11 shows reliable protection values.
