The manufacturer of plastic assemblies, metalworking and environmental technology, the Fritzmeier Group, was hit by a cyber attack. So far, the provider has only informed its customers with a note on the homepage that everything is continuing in emergency mode.

The list of attacked companies is getting longer and longer. A few days ago, the Fritzmeier Group, the manufacturer of complete cabins, plastic assemblies, metalworking and environmental technology, was also hit. The Fritzmeier Group has several German locations and employs around 2.200 people worldwide.

Company continues to operate in emergency mode

On the website of the Fritzmeier Group there is currently only a short text that describes the current events: “The Fritzmeier Group has become the victim of a criminal cyber attack. Our IT systems are affected across locations. However, large parts of our production are still operational and are currently running in emergency mode. However, we are currently still very limited in our availability. We are working flat out to remedy the situation and have also called in professional, external support for this.”

As with other attacked companies, communication seems to work only to a very limited extent or is completely paralyzed. It is very likely that the company was hit by ransomware. But which one is still unknown. The leak pages of LockBit, ViceSociety, Cuba or ALPHV or BlackCat do not yet show an entry for the Fritzmeier Group.

Large group of attacked companies

This attack adds another entry to the list of attacked companies. Before that, it already had companies of a similar size as Knauf building materialsHygiene article manufacturer CWS and Medicare, and Electronics manufacturer Semikron or the textile logistician Meyer & Meyer met. Also the IHK once had to report the loss of their website. All companies have had problems with their systems for a long time. But everyone communicated the attack openly and informed their customers.
