The maker of an AI-powered observability platform announced an extension of its AI engine Davis AI that can take companies beyond reactive AIOps to true preventive operations.

These advanced capabilities enable organizations to detect and prevent potential incidents before they occur through AI-driven automation, accelerating problem analysis and optimizing automated remediation. As digital services become increasingly complex and distributed, traditional reactive approaches to IT operations are no longer sufficient. Organizations are under increasing pressure to prevent outages that can cost millions in lost revenue and damage brand reputation.

Dynatrace has been pioneering AI-driven operations for more than a decade. Davis AI offers precise root cause analysis, while other approaches still rely on correlation and chatbots. Recent enhancements to Davis AI's predictive, causal, and generative capabilities include:

  • Dynatrace enables AI-assisted generation of artifacts to improve automated remediation workflows. For example, Dynatrace enables the generation of Kubernetes provisioning resources to adjust limits based on actual usage, thus preventing over- or under-provisioning.
  • Davis AI strengthens automatic root cause analysis with natural language explanations and context-based recommendations. It provides clear problem summaries, specific remediation steps, and highlights relevant best practices based on the analysis of past incidents. This accelerates the mean time to resolution (MTTR) while building an intelligent knowledge base that enables teams to learn from past experiences and mitigate the risk of knowledge loss.
  • In conjunction with the predictive AI functions These advanced capabilities enable true preventative measures, alongside Davis AI's predictive analytics, which accurately predict future behavior. Teams gain instant access to AI-generated predictions based on observational data, automated analytics, and Dynatrace automation in one central location. This helps prevent problems before they even occur. Dynatrace takes AIOps to the next level—beyond IT operations—and extends it to security applications such as proactive firewall configuration.

Andrea Gonzalez, Chief Operation Officer at NEQUI, a leading digital bank and financial platform, says: "We are committed to providing our customers with a world-class digital experience. This requires a proactive approach from our teams to ensure continuous service reliability. Dynatrace Davis AI has been instrumental in equipping our teams with the automated insights needed to identify potential issues in real time. The latest enhancements will further enhance these capabilities, providing unprecedented predictive analytics that will help us be even more proactive and prevent issues before they impact our customers."

Data processing

We have concluded a data processing agreement (DPA) for the use of the above-mentioned service. This is a contract mandated by data privacy laws that guarantees that they process personal data of our website visitors only based on our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

Andy Thurai, Vice President and Principal Analyst at Constellation Research, explains: "Natural language processing (NLP) has proven to be a game-changer for AIOps, enabling any incident responder to directly interact with observability data and determine the root cause of an incident—without having to wait for intervention from a seasoned expert who knows the system inside and out. By training a large language model (LLM) with ITOps-specific data and augmenting it with enterprise-specific observability telemetry, GenAI can instantly understand the provided telemetry and act autonomously—without relying on the expertise of individual experts."

Preventive operations

"The shift from reactive to preventive operations represents the next evolution in AIOps," says Bernd Greifeneder, CTO at Dynatrace. "As we continue to expand our advanced AI capabilities, we believe Dynatrace is solidifying its leadership as an intelligent, problem-solving partner for our global enterprise customers. By combining accurate, contextual data with advanced AI capabilities, we enable organizations to become truly proactive. This isn't just about earlier detection of problems or faster resolution—it's about preventing problems in the first place."
