Cloudflight, leading software development company and AI expert, is a partner of this year's bitkom conference Big-Data.AI Summit. Europe's leading conference on practical applications of artificial intelligence in business will take place virtually on April 21st and 22nd. On April 22nd, Dr. Bernhard Niedermayer, Head of Emerging Technologies at Cloudflight, will give a lecture on the topic of cost-efficient AI applications (“Cost-efficient AI technologies or why we cannot have enough AI platforms on the market”).

Platform use for AI applications

A large number of studies show that companies in Germany believe in the importance and potential of AI, but when it comes to actual use, the country lags far behind nations like the USA or China. The lecture will deal with the possibilities that platforms offer to create and implement AI applications cost-efficiently and with the lowest possible risk, so that companies can benefit more from AI products in real operation. Although there are many use cases in companies, these are often not implemented due to financial entry barriers.

“There are many exciting areas of application for AI applications in companies. Unfortunately, these are only very rarely poured into finished, marketable products or applications, ”says Bernhard Niedermayer. "In my presentation, I would like to show how the use of platforms can help lower the hurdles and enable companies to introduce real AI applications that produce reliable results and are repeatable on a larger scale."

Bernhard Niedermayer has been dealing with the topic of artificial intelligence for almost 15 years. He did his doctorate on the topic of audio processing with machine learning and built a team of AI specialists at Cloudflight. During his career, he has led a large number of AI projects, from proof of concept to multi-million euro AI implementation in the enterprise environment.
